Tyrone Nathan Esten, affectionately known as “Ta Ta” departed this life Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 56. He was native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Marrero, LA and presently residing in Harvey, LA. Tyrone was a graduate of John Ehret High School and was employed as an electrician with Christiana and Triad Construction. He was a former employee of Avondale Shipyard. Husband of Keinga Jones. Loving father of Tirele, Tyronnesha, Tyrone, and Tymira Howard, Tyshell, Rachell and Tyray Stevenson, Terrine and Grrione Davis, Kenya, Dorian, and Dion Jones, Ta’Tyania (Daibryun) Montgomery, and Troy Moseley. Beloved son of Carolyn Myles and the late Daniel White. Stepson of the late Shedrick Jones. Grandson of the late Oscar Myles, Jr. and Mynet Esten, who was instrumental in his rearing. Devoted brother of Temeka and Tamara Estem, Tondra, Taiwan (Royce), Shedrick (Niamilka) Myles, and Chazz Vaughn. Nephew of Addison, Debra and Darnell Estem, James Young, and the late Oscar Myles III and Fannie Mae Norwood. Uncle of the late James Estem and Isaiah Adams. Cousin of the late Arnaise, Trina, Barbara, and Charles Norwood, and Nakumicha Collins. Also cherishing his memories are his devoted companion Aggie Brown, 24 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
