Tyronn Trend Thomas was born on January 17, 1963, to the late Alex Thomas, Jr. and Ruth "Lela Mae" Critney Thomas. From a young age, Tyronn was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior with unwavering faith.

Throughout his life, Tyronn touched many through his work and community involvement. He lived for a time in New Orleans, where he worked with New Orleans Tours, and later served in the Baton Rouge court system. His commitment to public service was evident when he ran as a candidate for the District 7 seat on the Metro Council of Baton Rouge in 2016. In September 2018, he proudly earned a certificate of completion for Drug Court Training from Dellas County Court Services, demonstrating his dedication to continued growth and service.

Tyronn’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of over 26 years, Barbara Miller Thomas, and his daughter, Karan C. Mashia. He also leaves behind three step-sons: Anthony, Alex, and Michael. His family circle includes his sister, Cheletta I. Arthur of Baton Rouge, and five brothers: Stanley Thomas of Baton Rouge; Lynn A. Thomas and Sandy K. Thomas of Brusly, Louisiana; Alonzo A. Thomas of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Anthony J. (Ada) Thomas of California. Tyronn was also a cherished presence in the lives of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Tyronn T. Thomas Jr., his parents, and siblings Cynthia Thomas Henderson, Alex Thomas III, Leroy Thomas, Marvin Thomas, and Percy Thomas.

Known fondly as "T," "Ty," and "Shaggydog," Tyronn will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him. A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1327 N 49th Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802.

Tyronn Trend Thomas’s life was one of faith, family, and service—a beautiful example to all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to those he left behind.
