He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1964, then joined the Navy that same year and served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Boxer. After serving in the Navy, Ulie started his career as an electrical engineer at Duke Energy until his retirement. In retirement he enjoyed golfing and golfing and golfing.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly (Ryan) Compton; Kevin Angleton; Kristen (Chad) Johnson; Fallon Faulkenberg; Stepson Damon Faulkenberg; grandchildren Tyler and Logan Compton; Gavin Faulkenberg; Quinton Smith; Sister Deborah (Robert) Officer and life partner Patricia Coffman.
A virtual memorial will be scheduled at a later date.

Ulie & I both worked at PSI Energy but I really got to l know him when he married Lynette, my beloved cousin. He always was smiling and they were fun to be around. We shared playing golf at lot, impromtu weekend gatherings with our friends, pool parties at their house & summer houseboat trips. His sudden demise was shocking but we know he is at peace. Hug Lynette for us. We will miss him. Betsie & Mike

Ulie was one of my favorite best friend for several years . Fun witted and a honorable man that my whole family came to love him.. He was the best person to be around. He was always the life of the party. He always wanted people to laugh and he would provide for his family over the top. He loved to travel and watch golf and play golf and he loved doing just that he had a beautiful heart to all his friends &family and I´m glad I was part of it for a short time.
