Ursula Siesel Obituary

Ursula Siesel

Dec 10, 1937 - Apr 22, 2024

San Diego, CA

Ursula F. Siesel, 86, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 22, 2024, in San Diego, California. She was born December 10, 1937, in Cleveland, the oldest daughter of John and Marie Zobec.

She moved to Bellevue as a child and attended Immaculate Conception School and Bellevue High School, graduating in 1956.

On May 18, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, Marvin, and began their 66-plus-year journey. After their honeymoon took them to the west coast, they eventually settled permanently in San Diego in 1962.

As the children came, Ursula immersed herself in their school and extracurricular activities. St John's Guild, sports team mother, fundraising volunteer; if someone asked, she said YES! A talented artist, she was tasked with decorating the galas and doing floral arrangements. She knew how to make life beautiful.

Always supporting her husband, she was an integral part of starting their business, Siesel's Old Fashioned Meats in 1968. As their children got older and the business thriving, she then took time to devote to Rady's Children's Hospital as an auxiliary member, again using her talents for fundraising events. At 86, she was still a supporting member.

A fan of all sports, she enjoyed both attending in person and cheering from her living room.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Marvin, San Diego, California; three daughters, Michele, Trinidad, Colorado, Melissa (Antone), San Diego, California, and Monica, San Diego, California; a son Michael, Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She has two sisters, Gerry Beyer (Gordon) and Bernie Richcreek, St. Pete, Florida; and in-laws, nieces, and nephews, too numerous to name but too important to forget.

She was preceded in death by their son, Matthew, in 1995.

Friends will be received 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at St. Gaspar del Bufalo church, 16209 Co Rd 46, Bellevue, Ohio 44811. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery. All are welcome to gather at the Bismark Senior Center for luncheon following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Matthew Siesel Memorial Scholarship Cathedral Catholic High School, 5555 Del Mar Heights Road San Diego, CA 92130; c/o Elsa Jones (858)523-4000 x1721

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Ursula. She always had a warm smile on her face and such a wonderful friend. It didn´t matter what was going on in her busy world.. she always made time for others. Losing Matt .. was devastating for her and Marvin and family.. but as years continued to go by ..they both only had such comforting words for others and their losses and joys during blessed happy times. I will always remb the sudden loss of my dad , her comforting words to our family but esp my mom was imessurable. Within a year my mom went through another loss .. my brother Peter. Again.. Utsela and Marvin were so kind.
Then many years after .. my mom. She was a blessing who helped me so much., and was so much help in our parish.
Thank you and God Bless you . RIP my condolences to the entire family but esp to Mr Siesal ! You are loved!

Ursula was always so nice when my friends and I rode our bikes in Bay Park and stopped in at Siesel's Market. She was a wonderful lady and always had time to talk with us. Rest in peace, pretty lady!
