V. Allene Swinney age 84 of Chuckey passed away Friday September 12, 2025 at her home. She was a member of New Haven Church and her Pastor was Keith Williams. She retired from Hurd Lock after 30 yrs. and her life was her faith in God and her family. " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7. She is survived by her children Debbie (Ronnie) Carver, Wayne Swinney, and Donna Stanley, grandchildren James (Emily) Taylor, Charylene (TC) Brooks, Chad (Kathryn) Carver, Brandy (Chris) Masingale, Nikki Swinney, great grandchildren Morgan Carver, Maelyn Masingale, Bryce Carver, Tallon Taylor, Trigger Taylor, Taegan Taylor, Anakin Brooks, Aaron Brooks, Katlyn Brooks, sister Mary Morelock, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Swinney, parents Herman and Savannah Stanley Grizzle, sisters Barbara Hensley, Sandra Lamb, and Linda Jean Grizzle, brothers Trey Grizzle, Troy Grizzle, and JC Grizzle. The family will receive friends from 1-3:30 pm Sunday September 14, 2025 at New Haven Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:30pm at the church with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. The graveside service will be in Chuckey Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Taylor, Tallon Taylor, Chad Carver, Chris Masingale, Robert Rogers, and Shane Morelock. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Dr. Felix Hernandez, and Dr. Charles Montgomery. Special thanks to all the caregivers.
