Val Steven Christensen, born on September 8, 1974, in Winter Garden, Florida passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2025, in Fulton, Mississippi. Steve was a devoted family man, whose passion for his loved ones was evident to all who knew him. He cherished every moment spent with his family and his church community, and these relationships were the proudest accomplishments of his life.
A graduate of Smithville High School, Steve had a warm and welcoming personality that drew people in. He loved engaging with others, especially his Charleston family, often through conversations on the phone. His affection for his family was profound, as was his commitment to his church, where he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
Growing up, Steve loved riding horses, dirt bikes, go-carts, and four-wheeler riding. He loved spending the holidays in Florida with his family. Being a natural go-getter, he never met a stranger and became a friend to all quickly. He loved to make everyone feel as though they were special. Steve was most happy when his family would bring milkshakes to him, where he could enjoy the sweetness alongside his nieces and nephews.
Steve is survived by his sister, Danielle Christensen Terry (Rev.James Terry) of Aberdeen, Mississippi; his brother, Scott Christensen (Alicia) of Hodges, Alabama; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews: Ashley Hamon (Joshua), Jed Terry (Bailey), Michelle Sandoval (Daniel), Sarah Rose Terry, Myla, Cooper, and Holdon Christensen. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his nine great-nieces and nephews: Kingston, Fletcher, Adeline, and Banks Hamon; Fisher, Finley, Jedsen, and Jada Terry; and Goldie Rose Terry.
He joins in eternal rest his father, Val Richard Christensen; his mother, Renée Adele Mathews Christensen; his sister,Renée Nicolle Christensen; and his grandparents, Jack and Dorthy Stanford, Val D. Christensen and George and Renée Mathews, who preceded him in death.
Steve loved with his whole heart, which his family will cherish forever.
Family and friends are invited to remember Val and honor his life at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, Mississippi. Visitation will take place on November 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The burial will follow at Young Memorial Garden in Smithville at 3:00 PM.
Val Steven Christensen's legacy of love for family and community will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
