Val A. "Bud" Lederer, 88, of Alexandria, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at his home. He was born May 29, 1937, in Dayton, KY, to his late parents, Robert and Mildred (nee Sarbeck) Lederer. He was a retired technician from Cincinnati Bell. Bud served our country for six years in the United States Navy. In 1958 he started his fire fighting career with the Alexandria Fire Department. He was a dedicated member and achieved the rank of Chief, a role in which he served from 1973-1991. After 1991and through the many changes that followed, Bud remained a dedicated member and served in one capacity or another until his passing. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Lederer (nee Haney); two brothers: Robert Lederer and Gary Lederer. Bud is survived by his brother, Donald (Jan) Lederer; daughter, Robbin (Tim) See; two grandchildren: Jamie (Evan) Roth and Jake See and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington Street, Alexandria, KY 41001. Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the funeral home. Family requests that you wear something red, which was Bud's favorite color. Interment in the Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria, KY. Memorials are suggested to Campbell Fire Rescue, 7951 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria, KY 41001.

Us here at dunkin in alexandria ky are deeply heart broken of your lost bud was a sweet and caring man he would come in every day to get his blueberry muffin and meduim coffee it was like a rotuine for him he always made our day with his jokes and stories he will be deeply missed
