Mrs. Valarie Ann Coffill of Pine Bush, New York died on Thursday, July 21, 2022 after an eight year battle with cancer that she refused to let control her life. She was 61.
She confronted her diagnosis and continued to live life, traveling the country between her years of treatments, enjoying camping, the Jersey Shore and her cooking. Even in the final year, she still looked forward to going to the Orange County Park for camping. She received incredible care from the physicians and staff of Garnett Health, Dana Farber Cancer Center of Boston MA and Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County. Their care, along with her indomitable spirit, added years to an initial stage 4 cancer diagnosis.
Valarie was born on February 25, 1961 in Port Jervis, NY the daughter of the late Robert Card and the late Linda Kadel Card. She graduated from Port Jervis High School (1979) and Sullivan County Community College.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years Randall Coffill at home and her son, Zachary Coffill and his partner, Ashley Cassat of Golden, Colorado. She is also survived by her triplet sisters, Vicki Engelhart and Vanessa Miller, and her brothers Robert Card and David Card. She has numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews all of whom she cared for deeply. She is also survived by her Mother-In-Law, Elaine Coffill, her Sister-In-Law, Gretchen Navarte and her Brother-In-Law, Harry Coffill.
Her favorite Golden, Max left her last year to prepare a welcoming place for her.
A memorial gathering to celebrate her life and remember her spirit will be held at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY on Monday, August 1, 2022 with a visitation from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm followed by a service at 6:00 pm with Laura McBane officiating.
A private family Internment of the cremains will be held at the family's convenience in the Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550 whose wonderful assistance helped Valarie transition peacefully during her end phase.
