Obituary of Valentine Jaramillo
Valentine was born in Denver, Colorado on April 5, 1943 to Adolph and Acelia Jaramillo and had 9 siblings Cecelia (Rudy) Romero, Justice (Jan) Jaramillo, David (Delia) Jaramillo, Gabriel Jaramillo, Timothy (Theresa) Jaramillo, Frances (Rudy) Velasquez, Pauline Schlueter, Mark (Tony) Jaramillo, and RoseAnn (Michael) Eckley.
Val grew up in the Denver area and decided to enlist in the Army after graduating high school. He served as a Motor Transit Operator in Fort Carson, Colorado from 1961-1963.
After the Army, Val worked for GoldStar Hotlink Company as a meat processor/packer. He dedicated many years of hard work and retired with full benefits.
He was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father and grandfather who was not only generous monetarily, but was more importantly generous with his time. He loved having conversations with family, friends, and even with strangers; wherever he went he just loved to make people laugh with his unapologetically cheesy jokes. That is what made him truly happy, and in turn that is what made others love him so much. He was authentic to himself and to everyone else.
He had a passion for walking and being outdoors, he enjoyed observing and learning about people, he was an avid boxing fan, he loved music-especially Frank Sanatra and the Everly Brothers.
Mexican music and food would bring him back to his youth and he would remember playing with his siblings and would say "There is something about the way it makes me feel."
He also loved classic comedy movies, old westerns, and Judge Judy.
Lastly, he loved spending time with his beloved beautiful wife Delores Jaramillo. Together they built a happy and loving home where family and friends could gather and visit.
Valentine is survived by his younger brother Mark Jaramillo who resides in Edgewater, Colorado.
3 children (from his first marriage) Greg (Karen) Jaramillo, Dominic Jaramillo, and Lisa (Michael) Gavlik who reside in Southern Oregon and have a total of 15 grandchildren Mystique, Ariel, Coral, Contessa, Leila, Marina, Noah, Sierra, Dante and Beatrice, Katelyn, Benjamin, Cassandra, Andrew and Dominic Jr. 6 great-grandchildren Lily, Delilah, Lucas, Sophia, Atticus and Bjorn.
He also has many nieces and nephews starting with Rudy, Randy, Robin, Sherry, Coleen, Sharon, Jill, Justice Jr, Olga, Ida, David Jr, Timothy Jr, Tammy, Ruda, Melody, Justine, Mark Jr, Richard, Michelle and Lou.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Valentine's service to his country.
