Valerie Lynn Avery, 68, of Medina, passed away November 13, 2022.
She was born in Parma on December 10, 1953 to Stephen and Kathryn (Chichy) Duchon.
Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Mark; daughter, Heather (Kevin) Santiago; son, Cameron Gainer; and sister, Carol (Don) Soderburg.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Valerie retired from First Energy Corp. as assistant to the Vice President of Human Resources. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, and going on adventures with her husband on their motorcycle. She also loved animals.
Per her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I am just one of the many, many people who knew Val online, although I did have the good fortune to meet her in person in California a few years ago. Her grace, strength and courage were unmatched. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to her family.
