In Loving Memory of Valina Laguerre
March 16, 1936 – April 9, 2025
Valina Laguerre, 89, of LaVallee de Jacmel, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025 surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Born on March 16, 1936, to Alice Benoit and Colon Bien-Aime, Valina was a woman of quiet strength, creativity, and deep compassion. She was one of several siblings, including Anite, Anette and Josette, and is now reunited with her beloved siblings Colbert, Ages and Clivia.
Valina was the cherished wife of Christian Laguerre, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised eight wonderful children: Quetly, Rose-Carmelle, Wilner, Hewidge, Enceau, Raymonde, Nadine and Olguine. Her love and devotion as a mother knew no bounds.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ludgy, Edwina, Joshua, Christian "Sammy", Kerven, Dave, Elijah, Caleb, Aisha and Andrew, and a doting great-grandmother to Ruth Valley. To all who met her, Valina was more than family-she was a comforting presence, a kind soul, and a source of wisdom.
As the years went on, the roots Valina planted just continued to spread and grow into a wide family. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Marie Lettice; sons-in-law, Izalle, Alex, Collins and Pierre; granddaughter-in-law, Violet; sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, and countless loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A talented and skilled embroiderer, Valina poured her heart into her art. She created beautiful, intricate pieces that will be treasured for generations. Her gentle hands not only crafted fine embroidery but also held her family together with love, warmth, and faith.
Even in her final days, Valina found joy in the visits and prayers of family and friends, welcoming them with grace and gratitude. Her spirit remained resilient and her heart full. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

St. Mary's Church – 330 Pratt Street, Mansfield, MA 02048
Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10am
