Van Hill Obituary
Memorial service for Van LaDell “Dale” “PawPaw” Hill, age 90 of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 11:00A.M. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Hill passed away on January 30, 2022 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.
Van was born on April 8, 1931 in Yantis, Tx to C. Travis and Anna Lou (Bryant) Hill. He married Clara Goodson on January 17, 1975. Van was a veteran for the United States Army. He worked as a mechanic and maintenance for Cannon Craft. Van loved to work on old cars and trailers.
He is survived by his daughter, Rita Greer and husband, Mark; son, Dewayne Cockrell and wife, Billie; grandchildren, Charlie “Tex” Hill and wife, Rachel, Susan Hill Mooney and husband, John, Amberly Greer, Brandon Cockrell and Erin, Cody Cockrell and wife, Amanda; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Reva Hill, Norma Denton, Vivian Dalton and husband, Kenneth; numerous nieces and nephews.
Van was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara; son, Henry Hill; and a great great granddaughter.
