It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Vanessa Redding Goodwin, 69, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 5, 2026. She was born on February 29, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Robert Redding and Emma Ruth Harris.
Known lovingly as "Yaya," Vanessa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was known for her kind heart, her sweet soul, and the way she always spoke her mind while still being loved by everyone she encountered.
Vanessa found joy in going to church, being surrounded by her family, and spending time with the people she loved. She enjoyed shopping, listening to music, and could often be found talking on the phone, connecting with those who were important to her. Her love, warmth, and honesty will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
