Vanessa R. Wright, 67, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025, at her home following a lengthy illness. Vanessa was born April 7, 1958, in New London, Connecticut, daughter of the late William Kahl and Carole Crocker Borden. She was reared in the home of the late William and Elsie Pleasant. She married Kenneth Wright who precedes her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughter, Tamika Pleasant, Chillicothe, Ohio; grandchildren Kabria Pleasant and Ka'Von Pleasant and great grandson, Ahsan Armstong.

Also surviving are one stepson, four stepdaughters, four step grandchildren as well as brothers and sisters: Tom Claytor, Columbus, Ohio; Eddie (Tracy) Borden and Sheila Borden, both of Gallipolis, Ohio; Susan Pleasant and Lisa (Glendon) Vinson, both of South Point, Ohio; Dawne Borden, Crown City, Ohio; Donna Borden, Rio Grande, Ohio and special family and friends: Brenda King, Melissa Coleman, Geri Cain, Chris Ball, Michelle Smith, Freddie Logan, Sandra Mitchell and Melanie Howard as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vanessa was preceded by sister, Wendy Borden and nieces, Misti Pleasant and Dalisa Borden..

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 6:00-8:00 PM in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Cremation services to follow.
