Vaughn V. Van Wormer

VANWORMER, Vaughn V. – of Clio, age 75, died December 25, 2025 at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. John Montney officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of choice.
Vaughn was born September 20, 1950 in Flint, Michigan to the late Orlie and Alberta (Raymond) Van Wormer. He grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1968. On June 8, 1968 he married Peggy Shank and they had 57 wonderful years together. Vaughn worked for GM from 1968 to 1999 where he held various positions. After his retirement from GM, he worked for the Genesee County Parks and Recreation for 16 years. Vaughn enjoyed bowling and started in the men's leagues at the age of 16, following the tradition of his father, mother, brothers, and sister where he eventually joined the 700 Men's Club. Vaughn played baseball in high school and in the men's league as well. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, bingo and gambling.
Surviving are, Wife, Peggy Van Wormer; Children, Angela (Michael Moeggenberg) Overmyer, Robert (Tina) Van Wormer; Grandchildren, Mathew (Stephanie Wykoff) Crane, Brittani (Jacob) Raby, Alivia (Aaron) Christiansen, Ashleigh (Brandon) Lonsway; Great-Grandchildren, Makenzie Raby, Evelyn Christiansen, Robert Lonsway, Scarlett Christiansen, Madilyn Raby; Siblings, Raymond VanWormer, Dennis VanWormer, Linda Robideau. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Daughter, Teresa VanWormer; Brother, Merv VanWormer; Mother-in-law, Violet Joann Brown Shank Lowell.
