Nee was born October 25, 1961, in East Chicago, IN, to the late Barbara Jean Gregory. She worked as a Surgical Technician for over 16 years at Dyer Rehab Center and Jackson Park Hospital in Illinois. In Lafayette, she worked for Franciscan Health Hospital and Hippensteel Funeral Home. Nee was a member and sang in the choir at Second Baptist Church.
She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving her children: Tyrus (wife, Jacque) Veals of Lafayette and Tilden Warpower of Japan; siblings: Sandy Jackson, Dewayne Jackson, Andrew Gregory, William Jackson, Andre Jackson, Kevin Jackson and Kim Jackson; grandchild: Melinyanna Cuevas; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved grand pup: Romey.
Renita is preceded in passing by her sister, Marie Jackson; and two brothers, Karl and Derrick Jackson.
Visitation will be held from 11am – 12pm October 17, 2025 at Second Baptist Church. Funeral service will begin at 12pm with Pastor Charles Walter. Interment will be held in Griffith Indiana at Fern Oaks Cemetery on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Share memories and condolences online at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com

Renita and many other friends from grade school until high school shared many precious memories. I remember hanging out on Pennsylvania Avenue at Renita´s home; that when Barbara her Mom was living. The last time I saw her was at the Sentators for Life park gathering at Baby Park in the Harbor. We always had tons of fun together! Rest easy Renita.
