Mrs. Veerta Kumari Puri, of Bethesda, Maryland, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on May 12, 2025. She was born on October 1, 1944, in Daryaganj, India, to a family of 9 other siblings.
Her life was marked by strength and resilience in carrying out her duties as a mother and a wife. For almost 50 years of her life, she unwaveringly cared for her disabled son. She was the pillar of strength for her family during times of adversity. Veerta was the one to provide positive words of hope and encouragement.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed volunteering at the Hindu Temple, whether it was helping cook in the kitchen, participating in jagrans, or singing bhajans. She also enjoyed spending time and watching TV shows with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind two brothers and two sisters.

Cremation Service Date: Thursday, May 15, 2025 Time: 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM (Eastern Time) Location: Carewell Cremations Address: 2929 Eskridge Rd., Fairfax, VA 22031
Following the funeral service, cremation will take place at Carewell Cremations, located behind Robert's Oxygen. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
