Vera Combs Obituary
Vera J. Combs, 87, of Naples, FL, and the Cayman Islands, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, at the Vitas Inpatient Unit in Naples. Born at home in Grand Cayman on August 13, 1937, Vera embarked on a new chapter at the age of 30, moving to Naples in 1967. She began her journey as a caretaker for a family's children before working at a local telephone company and later earning her nursing certificate. On May 29, 1973, Vera married Dr. William Combs, sharing over five decades of love and companionship.
A devoted Christian and wife, Vera was known for her loving and caring spirit that touched everyone she met. Vera is survived by her husband, Dr. William Combs; her sister, Clairstine Ebanks; her brother, Rayburn Ebanks; numerous nieces and nephews; and other cherished family members.
A memorial celebration of Vera's life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church Naples. "

I worked with Vera in the children´s ministry many years ago. She was a very giving, loving person. Now she is with the angels and our Lord. My condolences to Bill and her family and friends.

Ms. Vera was always very friendly and caring. She was a wonderful and loyal friend to my grandmother (Rebecca Shearer). She always had a positive attitude and was a blessing to be around.

When we went out for pizza at C.C pizzeria in Naples she was so full of joy. We enjoyed the meal so much with Vera and Bill Comb.
