Vera Jane McCormack, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on April 13, 2025. She was born on July 20, 1928, in Anderson to the late Elude John and Clementine Helen (Pfefferkorn) Blotkamp. After graduating from St. Mary's High School, she married the love of her life, Wallace "Buck" McCormack. She worked at Dearing Drugstore before retiring after 30 years. Vera found her spiritual home at St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a faithful member for a number of years. She had a competitive spirit and kept herself very active, even into her 90's! She enjoyed going to the casino, bowling, and was an avid bingo player. Most importantly, she loved her family.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patty (Winston) Groves; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Jack McCormack; and sister-in-law, Cecil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Buck; children, David (Barbara) McCormack, Judy (Claude) McCann, Mike McCormack, and Mark McCormack; siblings, Jean Blotkamp, Monica Stohler, Helen Wikle, Ruth Koob, Betty Mohler, Phyllis Smithart, and Paul Blotkamp.

Her visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. A time of sharing will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Vera's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
