Vera May Solana, 82, of St. Augustine, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Vera was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Daniel and Olive Fondren. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl Solana.
Vera worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 20 years. She loved helping people. She enjoyed going to the beach and fishing with her husband Carl. She also enjoyed family visits.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Doug Wood, and her four siblings.
She is survived by her children, Tom Fowler, Rusty Wood, Bob Markwell, and Dawn Schmidt. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews, and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine.
