Vernon Fox Sr. (67), born on April 12, 1957 in Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on January 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at Carolina East Medical Center. He was a cherished member of his family, remembered for his love of fishing, his humor, and the joy he found in spending time with friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Vernon is survived by his son, Brenton Lee Fox, and his wife Christina; two beloved grandchildren, Wesley and Kaylee Fox (Daytona, FL); and his sweet little dog, Bitty. He also leaves behind his sisters Betty Fodrie (Johnny) of Beaufort, NC, Hope Deering (Danny) of Kentucky, and Linda Ennis (John) of Florida; as well as his brothers Joe Flores (Krista) and Paul High (Kathy) of Florida. Vernon was deeply loved by his many nieces and nephews, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Vernon “Sport” Fox Jr. and William Wesley Edward Fox, as well as his parents, Luther Fox and Elizabeth Flores.
Vernon’s life was marked by the warmth he brought to those around him. Whether casting a line on a peaceful day or sharing laughter with loved ones, he created memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
