Veronica Carr Obituary
Veronica "Punkin" Carr, age 78, of Hodgenville, passed away, Monday, January 12, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
She was a retired nurse, liked to cook and spent the last 20 years focusing on her grandchildren.
Veronica "Punkin" was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Carr Jr. and her parents, Roy Herman and Thelma Lee Skaggs.
She is survived by her son, Kelly (Emily) Burks; two grandchildren, Sean Kelly Burks, Jillian Eve Burks; a brother, Steve (Gwen) Skaggs; two nieces, Shelley (Tom) Skaggs Reynolds, Casie (Austin) Skaggs Blankenbeckler; two great nieces, Georgia Reynolds, Francis Blankenbeckler; a great nephew, Bobby Hicks Blankenbeckler and many close cousins.
She was cremated and the family will hold a memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, January 31, at Corinth Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Maggard officiating.
Memorial visitation begins at 2:30 p.m. at the church.
Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

I worked with Veronica for several years. I was always glad to see her as that smile always greeted me. She was a great nurse with tons of empathy and love for what she did. I pray for peace for her and her family.

I worked with Veronica for several years. I can´t begin to elaborate on the fun times we had being ER nurses. I was there when she started dating John. I remember Kelly as a little guy. She was a wonderful, kind person. She´ll be missed by many.
