Saint Albans – Veronica "Bonnie" J. Dansereau a lifelong resident of the area peacefully joined her beloved husband in heaven late Thursday evening, March 14th, 2024, at the home they forever shared together.
Veronica was born in Highgate, Vermont on October 5th, 1942, she was the oldest child of Maynard and Arlene (Currier) Beyor. She was 81 years old.
On October 11th, 1958, in Holy Angels Church, she married her lifetime love, best friend and father to her children, Maurice "Moe" C. Dansereau, who passed away in 2016.
Vernoica attended school in Highgate and after marrying she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. Maurice and Veronica owned and operated "Moe's Quick Stop and Custom Cutting" on Route 7 on the Swanton Road. She was renowned for standing at the cuber machine making the best steaks to offer and knowing the best cuts of meat. In later years, Veronica worked at Verdelle Village Nursing Home as a dietitian aid and for the Abbey Catering Group at Bellows Free Academy. For many years each Fall, Veronica and Maurice proudly enjoyed working together at "Moe's Deer Cutting"." Veronica liked to cook and enjoyed making things in the kitchen with her husband, Maurice.
Her enjoyments in life included dancing, listening to George Jones Country music, gardening, playing cards, bingo, puzzle books, camping with Maurice, and mostly being at home. Veronica's day would not be complete without her making strong coffee, drinking her soda (sodi) and relaxing in the kitchen with the deck door open bringing in the sunshine. She looked forward to the late-night phone conversations with her sisters and family and snacking on cookies and ice cream. Undoubtably, one of Veronica's biggest enjoyments in her life was spending time with her grandson "Joshee". They shared a unique bond that will forever be special. Veronica will be greatly missed and will forever be remembered in our hearts.
Survivors include her children; Denise Leduc and her daughter, Danielle and her husband, David, of Swanton, Maurice "Kevin" Dansereau and his wife, Lisa, and their son, Brad and his wife, Jennifer of Franklin, Linda Wells and her husband, Scott, and their daughter, Ashley of St. Albans, Karen Burfoot and her husband, Jamie and their son and Veronica's special grandson, Josh (Joshee) Burfoot of St. Albans, Todd Dansereau and his wife, Jessica, of Mooers, New York.
Veronica also has 3 great-grandchildren, and sisters, Sheila King, Alma Sturgis, and Morleen Moss. A special Aunt Rosemary (Currier) along with her family, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, "Moe", she was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Dorcas Bushey and Marsha "Punk" Ellison as well as a special friend Eve Moss.
The family would like to thank Franklin County Hospice (Heather and Ann), Jamie Burfoot, Lynn Willett and Morleen Moss for their loving care of Veronica right to the end.
There will be no public calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Parish, Holy Angels Church, 245 Lake Street with the Reverend Father Christopher Micale as celebrant. Prayers of committal and interment will take place at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
