Carolyn "Carrie" Marie Dansereau, 68, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home in Conneaut.
She was born in Ashtabula on August 16, 1957, the daughter of Roy and Rosemary (Bennett) Cook.
A lifelong Ashtabula resident, Carrie graduated from Edgewood High School, Class of 1975. She married the love of her life, Martin Dansereau, on October 25, 1986. The couple enjoyed their many road trips and all things nature. She especially loved fishing and the beauty of fall. Carrie spent most of her career working as a server. This was a role she truly enjoyed because it allowed her to meet new people. She worked at many local favorites over the years, including El Grande, Kingsville Truck Stop, Covered Bridge, and Cozy Kitchen. Above all, Carrie loved her family deeply. She was a devoted caregiver for her parents until their passing.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Martin Dansereau; her brother, Eddie Cook; brother-in-law, Ed (Sheila) Dansereau; sister-in-law, Marie Peet. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, and had a special connection with her great-nephew, Conrad Tackett.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held at 12PM on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Kelloggsville Cemetery, 4646 Monroe Center Rd, Conneaut, OH 44030.
Memorials contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004, OR American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
One of Carrie's final wishes was to raise awareness for cancer prevention. She hoped that everyone reading this will take time to get recommended screenings and encourage others to do so as well.
