Veronica Skipper

Apostle Veronica Michelle Hayes-Skipper, 61, resident of Rincon, Ga. passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Effingham Hospital in Springfield, Ga. following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 06, 1962 to the late, Sarah Ketchup and McKenzie Weeks in Moultrie, Georgia. She was reared by her late stepfather, George Ketchup alongside of her mother, Sarah Ketchup. She received her education and graduated from the Wayne County public school system and was employed as a Probation Officer for many years until her health began to fail. Veronica attended church at Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Assembly. Apostle Veronica and Pastor George Skipper launched Resurrected Faith Ministries in April of 2003 in Rincon, Georgia. She dedicated her life to winning souls for Christ. She attended Webster College in Central Florida where she studied Mythology and majored in Accounting and Data Processing. Veronica was united in holy matrimony to her loving husband, George Anthony Skipper for (26) wonderful years.
Veronica was a Woman of God, Prayer Warrior, Mentor, Counselor, Entrepreneur, Author and a loving Wife (Boss Lady). She enjoyed cooking and working in her restaurants and serving the people. She enjoyed cooking so much that she went as far as to name her restaurant after her mother, "Sarah Jane's Kitchen". Veronica enjoyed traveling abroad preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was excited about life and lived her life praising and worshiping God. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sarah Ketchup and McKenzie Weeks; her sister, Jill Kelly; her brothers, Thomas and Harmon Weeks; a nephew, Brandon Brown and her father-in-law, George H. Skipper.
Those left to cherish her every memory: her loving and caring husband, George "Anthony" Skipper; her children that she loved dearly, Blake Hayes and his loving son that she claimed as her very on, Royal Hayes, Belinda (John) Bruce, Heyward, Lashata and Lester Skipper; her siblings, Tonia (Kenneth) Woods, Cawarnest (Michelle) Cruse, Audrey Hayes, George (Holly) Ketchup, Marval Ketchup, Roberta McMillan, Charles Weeks and Annie Ruth Harris; her mother-in-law, Joyce Skipper; a special friend, Roberta McCray; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will certainly miss her dearly.
There will be a visitation/viewing held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, Ga. from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 @ 2:00 pm at St. John First Born Holiness, 386 W. Poplar Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
