In loving memory of Veshal Kumar Bisram, known affectionately as Ricky, who embarked on hisfinal journey on December 20, 2023. Born in Berbice, Guyana on November 27, 1977, to hisadoring parents, Susheila and Rhandeer Bisram, Veshal's life was a testament to the power oflove, kindness, and authenticity.
At the tender age of three, Veshal, along with his parents and older siblings Sandra and Ravi,ventured to New York, where they settled in the vibrant borough of the Bronx. Their journeydidn't end there; soon, the Bisram family found a new home in Queens, laying the foundation for the experiences that would shape Ricky's remarkable life.
In his youth, Ricky, as he was fondly called, became a cherished figure among the
neighborhoods of Queens. His charisma and charm were his trademarks, and he left an
indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him during his formative years.
As Ricky transitioned into adulthood, he embraced the role of a devoted family man, creating a loving household and raising two children of his own; Nicolas and Nelissa. For Ricky, family was not just a concept but the ultimate blessing, and he made it his mission to ensure that his loved ones felt cherished and valued.
Queens may have been the starting point, but it was not the final destination for Ricky's journey. With his children by his side, he ventured to Florida, where he reunited with his father, sister, brother, nieces, and nephews. Though the Sunshine State was unfamiliar territory, Ricky's infectious charm quickly endeared him to the community of Port Saint Lucie, where he becamea well-known figure, bringing his unique personality to every interaction.
Ricky's time in Port Saint Lucie was filled with joy, creating lasting memories and forging
meaningful connections with those around him. Within the few years of Ricky residing in Port Saint Lucie, he met a remarkable woman, Janine Khan who influenced Ricky to continue being himself. Their connection was inseparable with plans to be wedded but was unfortunately cut short. Sadly, after celebrating his 46th birthday, Ricky's health declined, leading to his passing. While 46 years may seem too brief for some, Veshal Kumar Bisram's life was a testament to the impact one can have by being a loving and caring soul.
Most importantly, Ricky spent his life unapologetically being himself-a genuine, kind-hearted individual who left an enduring legacy of love, laughter, and authenticity. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him, and the lessons he imparted on the importance of family and kindness will continue to resonate for generations to come. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
