Vesta Lee Todd was born October 23, 1932 in Beckham County, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of William and Ruth Hall. She passed away to her heavenly home on July 10, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Vesta married Gayle Todd on August 26,1950, at the First Baptist Church in Sayre, Oklahoma, they were married for 56 years. Together they had 3 children Judy, JW and Jeveta. In 1956, they relocated to El Reno, OK following Gayle's job at the Rock Island Rail Road, she was a railroad wife for 32 years and raised her children. Vesta liked to keep busy and had various jobs including managing Town & Country Hardware. She was a founding member of the Southern Heights Baptist Church of El Reno, OK.
Vesta was known for her meticulously kept house, great organization, quick witted personality, stellar pie baking and love for country music! Vesta enjoyed sewing, playing games with friends and anything Blake Shelton. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, grandmother and will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Judy Meade, JW Todd and Jeveta Todd. Her grandchildren, Shannon Bengs, Kara Watts, Cody Todd, Jillian Dobson, Jessica Winegeart, Jaime Rother, Jennifer Buchanan, Katie Russell, Kelley Russell & 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Gayle, parents, son-in-law, Bill Meade, daughter-in-law Kim Todd, eight siblings, and two great granddaughters.
A funeral service to honor the life of Vesta will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in El Reno with burial to follow in the El Reno Cemetery. Come and go viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 13 from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
