Mrs. Vickey Prevette Hoots, age 67 of Advance, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on December 30, 1957, in Wilkes County to the late Emory Eugene Prevette and Eva Belle Cleary Prevette. Vickey attended West Forsyth High School. Her 36year career in the airline industry began at Piedmont Airlines where she was a reservation agent. Through years of dedicated service, she eventually became President of CWA Local 3640 at American Airlines until her retirement in April of 2020.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Cheyenne Belle Hoots, one nephew Arnold Lee Rose and one niece Misty Dawn Hoots. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Robin Darryl Hoots; one son, Kristopher Hoots; five grandchildren; Dylan (Michele) Butcher, Dawn (Chris) Jones, Savannah Hoots, Mason Hoots, and Carter Hoots; six great grandchildren: Cheyenne, Brantlee, Gryphon, Noah, Kolter, and Birdie Ann, Sister Barbara Carol (Arnold) Rose, brother Ken (Demetra) Prevette and sister Joan (David) Hoots, and close dear friends Ronald and Melissa Burton.
Vickey dedicated herself to being there for her loved ones. She also enjoyed and took great pride in planning family events and celebrations for her family that she loved so dearly. She enjoyed planting flowers. Many evenings she could be found sitting on her back porch with husband Robin and close friends. The beach was also a special place for her. She enjoyed fishing and looking for shells. Vickey was a member of Bailey's Chapel United Methodist Church in Advance, NC.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by her cousin, Pastor Boyce Cleary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
