Vicki Kido Obituary

Vicki Ann Kido, loving mother, caring sister, steadfast friend, and long-time advocate for children, passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 73.
Vicki was born in Weiser, Idaho, and spent her early years in the small farming community of Nyssa, Oregon, where she was raised by her parents, Edward and Momoko Kido. The family later moved to Seattle in 1968, where Vicki graduated from Rainier Beach High School in 1970.
Vicki dedicated 41 years of her professional life to the Seattle Public Schools. Her last positions were an administrative assistant at Van Asselt and Graham Hill Elementary. Through her work, she affected generations of students, offering kindness, support, and a welcoming presence in every school she served. Her compassion left a lasting impression on the lives of many children and families.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her husband, Jeff Smith. She is survived by her son, Joseph Kido, brothers Kurtis Kido, and Ken Kido (and his wife, Alison Whitmire); her uncles Jimmy Morinaga and Jan Yagi; her aunt Helen Murahashi; as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Vicki had a generous spirit and a creative soul. She inherited a talent for cooking from her mother and often shared meals that brought people together. She was also an artist at heart, known for her handcrafted greeting cards that were made with care and given with love.
Above all, Vicki will be remembered for her kindness, her loyalty, and her quiet strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, former students, and all those who had the privilege to know her. She will be missed.
To honor her love of kids and her career in the Seattle Public schools we have set up a method for anyone to contribute to the Graham Hill Elementary School PTA
