Vicki Wiener passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Sandstone Healthcare Center in Sandstone at the age of 72.
Vicki Rae Schafer was born May 30, 1953, to Donald and June (Ellis) Schafer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up in Minneapolis, graduating from Edison High School in 1971. Upon graduation she attended St. Cloud State University (SCSU) and earned her Bachelor's degree in social work/psychology. In her senior year at the SCSU, she married Gary Ahles. They later divorced.
Always interested in learning she went on to study nursing, graduating from St. Mary’s (St. Catherine’s) in 1989. On February 24, 1996, Vicki married Randy Wiener of Pine City. Vicki had a strong faith, nurtured by her time as a volunteer at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and School in St. Cloud. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music, playing the piano, watching movies, family lake time, all animals, history, and exploring historic sights.
Vicki was a gentle and creative spirit with a wonderful sense of humor. She always cherished a good human story and had the utmost empathy for others.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Wiener of Pine City; children Kristin Ahles, Katie (Larry) Fallang all of St. Cloud, Erin (David) Carlsen of Milaca, April (Jason) Nieken of Hillman, Adam Wiener of Milaca, Nick (Jenny) Wiener of Becker, Megan (Reggie) Litke of Pierz; grandchildren Aaliyah Carlsen, Dasia Carlsen, Anna Fallang, Rachel Mclalwain, Tyler Wiener, Zach Wiener, Mason Wiener, Alexa Wiener, Berkley Litke, Birdie Litke; great-grandchildren Lily Mclalwain, Braxton Mclalwain; sisters Terry (Jeff) Hoffman of Crosslake, Debra (Larry) Oliver of San Antonio, Texas; brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law Greg (Penny) Wiener, Brad (Janet) Wiener, Theresa (Curt) Cummings, Anne (Jeff) Mohr, Kathy Brackenbury, Bob Wiener all of Pine City; many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
