Age 70 of Morris, Illinois passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at her home.
Born July 15, 1954 in Whitehall, Illinois, Vickie Lynn was a daughter of Thomas and Carolyn (Elliot) Lizenby. She was raised and educated in Morris, attended Morris Community High School and went on to marry William Bloomfield, who preceded her in death.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Morris, Vickie lived a life of service and kindness. She worked as a dietician at Morris Hospital for over 20 years, where she was known for her compassion and warmth. Later, she enjoyed her time working as a cashier at Wal-Mart, where she loved interacting with people from all walks of life.
Vickie found joy in the simple pleasures of life—shopping, spending time with family and friends, and dining out. She had a passion for playing bingo and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her love was boundless, and her generosity knew no limits. She was affectionately known as "Grandma" not only to her own family but to many others as well.
Vickie’s selflessness was unmatched; she gave freely to others without ever expecting anything in return. Her heart was as big as her love for those around her, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and unshakable faith.
Survivors include two children: Thomas Bloomfield of Hettick, Illinois and Tiffany Nix of Morris, Illinois and her daughter-in-law, Brigette Bloomfield of Diamond, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Brianna (Jeff) Goforth, Alexis Nix (Michael Martin) Bradford (Kylie) Bloomfield, Mercedes Nix, Ryan Bloomfield, Victoria Nix and William Bloomfield; (11) great grandchildren: Aubriana and Amieriah Nix, Levi, Emerson, and Eleanor Bloomfield, Elizabeth and Eleanor Martin, and Aribella, Sienna, Nathaniel and Eloise Goforths; one sister, Judy (Joe) Szafranski of Seneca, Illinois and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Rita (Dennis) Hartzog, Tina (Dale) Sparks, Hazel Bloomfield, Sandy (Dave) Spreitzer, Denny Bloomfield, Roger Bloomfield and Mike Lawrence, and numerous nieces and nephews.
