Vickie Marie (Freehling) Sheeder, 71, of AuGres, passed away on June 20, 2024.
Vickie was born September 8, 1952 on the steps of the Standish Community Hospital, to the late Bernard and Mary Joan (Eichstaedt) Freehling. She married Ret. CM David Sheeder on October 2, 1982.
Vickie entered the United States Air Force on February 1976 to July 1987. She was an Administrative Specialist receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal. Vickie did spend time in Mississippi, Turkey, Montana, and Texas where she lived for 8 years. She was a very proud American.
After departure from the military, her and Dave moved back to AuGres and bought she grew up in. Her sister, Janet, moved back from Oklahoma and together they opened Ma's Girl's Café and Catering in Omer.
Vickie's hobbies included cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and helping others.
She was a faithful member of the Arenac Christ Methodist Church, holding various positions such as Women in Faith and Bible study. She was a charter member of the AuGres Lioness Club, a board member of Arenac Opportunities, Inc, a previous member of Tops, a member of Emmaus Community, VFW Auxiliary.
Vickie is survived by her sister, Janet, of AuGres, brother, Scott (Dawn) of Sterling, and very special cousin, Kathy Thompson (David Stanley) of AuGres, stepsiblings Pam (Dan Roiter), Kim (Tom Pieske), and Wendell Jordan (Terry), nieces Kendra, Brooke (Ashley), Brittany, Branda (Andrew), Marci (Chris), great niece Alexis and great nephews Gavin and Connor, Aunts Alice Freehling, Zella Jean Freehling, and Helen Eichstaedt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Brother Bernie, and sister in law Kathy Freehling.
Our hearts are broken and she will be missed very much. Her faith was strong and her family, church family and friends were her world.

Condolences to the family of Vickie.
A very kind and caring lady. I loved doing catering jobs with her and the family. Vickie made the best pie crust. Always had kind words to say.
She will be missed.
Hugs and prayers to the family.
