To all of Hank’s family, I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a good guy. Hank and I go back many years. We lived a mile apart and rode the same school bus to school. He attended Covington High and I attended St Paul’s so much of our daily conversation on the bus was about sports and which school would win when they matched up. Usually, he could brag more than I could. We fished together periodically and enjoyed the conversation. He had the educational approach and I had the auditor approach. Fun conversations with neither of us totally agreeing with the other.

I taught science at MHS from 1972-1979 and Hank and I became friends. He was a fine teacher who was able to relate to the students and get the best from them. He taught such great life skills in shop and I know his students continue to use that knowledge today. My condolences to his family on their great loss.

Julie, Ryker and Bobbie - The entire Ogle family was saddened by this news. Please know we are thinking about you and praying for you. Mr. Abel was always an easy-going, welcoming man to me and all of our friends, opening his house to us for teenage gatherings. I remember one time I had caught a snake outside and had it in a box in your house. The snake got out of the box and we were frantically looking all over for it. Mr. Abel was sitting in his chair, as relaxed as can be, and he just turned to me and said something like "if you were a snake, where would you be". I looked around the room and decided it must be in the fireplace, and that's exactly where it was. Mr. Abel was a great teacher and coach, and he has had a positive impact on so many lives. He will be missed by all who knew him.

You will be missed Mr. Able. You didn't just teach us valuable skills in the shop. You taught us to be good people. I have continued to use everything I learned from you in my daily life. And I am teaching my own kids all of those same skills and lessons. Thank you for all you did for so many of us over your wonderful life. I am honored to have know you, learned from you and to have been your friend.

To me he was Mr. Abel. I remember him as a great teacher. I didn't like school in general but I enjoyed his class and made my best grades in that class. Praying for his wife and family.

He was one of the very best teachers at MHS when I was there. I wish I could have taken his class, but females were not allowed back then. RIP Mr. Abel !! JoAnn (Augenstein) Miller - MHS Class of 1968

Mr Able taught my classmates and I while I was attending MHS in the 60s. His nickname was Stable, which was appropriate since he was such a a stabilizing force in many of our lives. One of my favorite teachers. He will be missed

Truly, one of the best School Teachers I have ever had. Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years at M.H.S.
I learned all the basics from him and Mr. Melvin Chelena as they worked as an orchestrated Team. Rest In Peace, Mr. Abel.
