Last night I prayed for Cousin Victor! I had my rosary beads and prayed to him. This morning, I got this message of his legacy. That's no coincidence.
God has blessed both of us.

Our deepest condolences to Dr. Kathleen and the Family. Victor Bruno is probably the reason I met and married my wonderful husband Joe Skelly, a Stuyvesant Town resident and friend of Victor's. I met Victor and Joe Skelly for the very first time at Kennedy's in Breezy Point NY one night in 1974. And as they say, the rest is history....We attended Vic and Kathleen's beautiful wedding at The Manor in West Orange NJ. May he rest in peace.

I have such fond and loving memories of working with Dr Bruno. His glowing presence was always felt in the OR. To this day and forevermore, when the phone rings at the main desk of the operating room I will hear him, as he would always run to answer it and say in a loud semi Italian accent "Operations room," flashing his always present broad smile.
To Kathleen and family, my most heartfelt condolences.

The Brunos were part of our Spirit Eagles family as our daughters played field hockey together. In all my interactions with Victor and Kathleen, I always remember their kindness. Victor was always friendly and kind and interested in what you had to say. His passing is sudden and so very sad, but the work and impact Dr. Bruno had on many lives will live on. I am honored to have known him. Prayers for comfort and peace,

A classic Jesuit educational voyage through to medical school, a colleague at Overlook Hospital to Frank, a Pingry School fellow parent "fan in the stands" to chat with Paula, as a Dad who never missed his kids´ games when his son and ours were classmates, a friendly home to visit in Stone Harbor from our "short distance" Ventnor summer haunt ... Vic was so much more than any obit can convey to those who called him friend. Our deepest condolences to Kathleen, to his sons, and to daughter Brigid whose cute toddler incident in Stone Harbor spawned the "stuff of legend" chuckles long after. Vic´s efforts in West Africa were admirable and Frank recalls his probing questions in their chats about our visit couriering MAP International Rx & medical devices to Nkwanta, Ghana in 2006 when our daughter served in Peace Corps and told us about Dr. Koku Awoonor´s lonely outpost hospital serving a vast region of poverty. His love for family and his compassion for both his sick patients locally & the medically needy abroad are a lasting legacy.
