Richmond - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother. Victor Blake Putze, 57 passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024. Although he lived throughout the Southeast he considered Franklin, Virginia his home.
Victor was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his charm, warm heart, and witty sense of humor. He was never without a mischievous smile. Born on September 1, 1967 in Norfolk, Virginia, Victor was the son of Dr. Robert and Mrs. Claudette Putze, both of whom preceded him in death.
While growing up in Franklin, Victor could often be found on the football field as a linebacker, center, and kicker. He was a Boy Scout and achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout. He earned both his Undergraduate and Masters degrees from East Carolina University. Victor had an affinity for the outdoors and especially enjoyed being near the ocean. He was very involved with his family and was a natural caregiver. Before his illness, he was the primary caregiver for both of his parents.
Left to grieve his passing are his twin brother Robert (Jill) and their children Caroline and Robbie of Raleigh, North Carolina, sister Alice (Samuel) of Richmond, Virginia and their children Charles and Layne, as well as many cousins and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1PM Tuesday, January 7, 2024 at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin Virginia with Dr. Charles Qualls officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Boy Scouts of America or your favorite animal shelter.
