Victoria L. Thomas

Victoria L. “Vicki” Thomas, 82, of Coal Valley, Illinois, died Monday, October 16, 2023, at River Crossing of Moline.

Services are 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, with The Rev. Tim Snart officiating.  Visitation is one hour prior to services.  Private burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Vicki’s memory.

The former Victoria Lee Ristau was born May 14, 1941, in Moline, the daughter of Earl and Ilo (Jones) Ristau.  She married John B. Thomas and the couple was later divorced. 

She drove for the Coal Valley ambulance service for 16 years and volunteered for many organizations, most notably for the Coal Valley Lions Club, serving as a board member for several years and as president for a term.  She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley.

Vicki is survived by her brother, Ronald Ristau of Coal Valley; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Kim Ristau, Kandyce Prater, Anthony Ristau, Joe Pool, Vicki Sheehan, Lynnette Frutiger, and Lisa Kraklow, and their families.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ilo Ristau, and a sister, Bonnie Harker.
