Vincent “Vince” A. Hinkle, 77 of Edinboro, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie on April 10, 1948, the son of the late Amos and Elaine Hinkle.
Vince graduated from Fairview High School in 1966 and later studied at Penn State Behrend. He served with the U.S. Navy for two years. After serving his country, Vince began working for Erie Foundry and GE, followed by a lengthy career as a lineman with a number of local companies, including GTE, Penelec and GPU Energy.
Vince enjoyed raising livestock on his local farm, especially during spring when he released the calves into their fresh pasture. Hunting at the family camp and fishing from his boat in Lake Erie brought Vince enormous satisfaction and provided him with more time with family and friends. Each spring he looked forward to tapping the Maple trees to kick off the annual Maple syrup season. Vince enjoyed starting his day by working the daily crossword puzzle over a fresh cup of coffee brewed by his loving wife. In addition to his outdoor activities, Vince enjoyed bantering with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dianne; a son, Korey (Brenda) Hinkle of Jefferson Hills, PA; a daughter, Kelly (Timothy) Gresh of Inwood, WV; a brother, Dwight Hinkle of Granite Falls, NC and Debbie Hinkle of Hickory, NC; 6 grandchildren, Madison, Abigail and Jonathan Gresh and Brayden, Austin and Tyler Hinkle; and a great grandchild, Bailey Foreman.
