On October 4, 2025, Vincent Laresca passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Vinny was born on February 7, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, to Nicolina and Leonard Laresca. He grew up as one of 7 brothers and sisters in a big, loving Italian family. He loved playing stick ball on the Brooklyn streets with his brothers and his friends. As a teen, he began playing softball and it became a lifelong passion! As a young man, he served in the army and was stationed in Germany and visited, Denmark, England and Italy, while on leave. He was a proud veteran. He met the love of his life, Judy, at a church dance and they were happily married for 62 years! They had two daughters, Pamela and Terri. Vinny was an amazing dad to his daughters. They all moved to Great Kills, Staten Island, in 1971, where he resided for the rest of his life. Vnny worked as a Postal Police Officer in Manhattan for many years until retiring. Besides his family, Softball was the other love in his life! He was a star pitcher for all of his teams, winning many championships, and was very well known and respected in the softball community on Staten Island. Vnny was a loving grandfather to his 4 granddaughters, Olivia, Isabella, Katie and Alexa. He loved going on vacation to Disney and Long Beach Island with his family when his granddaughters were little. He also loved to go to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, with Judy, to play the slot machines! Vinny is survived by his wife Judy, his daughters Terri Marino and Pamela Peduto, his sons in law Steve Peduto and Tom Marino, and his granddaughters Olivia, Isabella, Katie and Alexa. He is also survived by his sister Terry and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved very much. We just know that he is now up in heaven playing softball with his brothers Joey, Tommy and Johnny, and with his sisters Margaret and Annie and his parents cheering him on. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:45 AM on Tuesday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
