Vincent Joseph "Rooster" Lopez Sr

A lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA, Vincent Joseph "Rooster" Lopez, Sr., was born on June 25, 1952. He departed this earthly world on December 11, 2025, at the age of 73. Vincent built a dedicated 35-year career at the United States Postal Service. His charismatic personality, strong work ethic, and the abundant friendships he cultivated throughout his life will be remembered fondly. Vincent leaves to cherish his memory, his three children Vincent Jr (Eyango), Tiki, and Corey Lopez, his five grandchildren, Vincent, III, Torie, Elijah, Alaina, and Corey Jr. Lopez, five sisters – Carolyn Washington, Claudia Ally, Delores Maxmillion, and Joann and Beverly Graves, brothers-in-law, Larry and Don Sceau, and a host of loving relatives, lifelong friends, and acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janell S. Lopez, parents – Elliot and Josephine Lopez, sisters – Margaret Clark, Claudette Barnett, June Lopez, and Edith Lazard, and brothers – Hubert and Donald Lopez. Relatives, friends of the family, friends of the United States Postal Service, and those who knew and loved Rooster, are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, for 11:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 5621 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, LA Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
