Vincent O'Connor took it upon himself to educate some of us in Ely on the basics of the (brand-new at the time) joys of the internet and email, circa the early 1990s. He offered free short evening courses that were well-attended and helped many of us get started in this otherwise daunting new path to research, entertainment, and communication. Decades later, I hired him to assist with my business website for a resort and log building school. He came out to my office, was always fair and diligent, and he thoughtfully explained complex things without talking down to anyone. I never knew him as a poet, but did read some of his works. I suspect everyone who knew Vince misses him dearly. He was a good person-condolences to his lovely wife, who would often accompany him on his visits to customers.
