Vinton "Craig" Hitchcock, 71, of Norman, passed away at VA Hospital in OKC on November 26, 2025. Craig was born in OKC on April 4, 1954 to Barbara Hitchcock and L.N. Poynter, Jr.

Craig graduated Norman High School in 1972. He later went on to earn four degrees from the University of Oklahoma, BA in Broadcast Journalism (1995); Masters in Education (1997); Masters in Human Relations (1997); and a Masters in Regional/City Planning (1999). Craig had two successful businesses in the 80's, Hitchcock's Chimney Sweeping and Southwest Duct Cleaning. Craig was a parabolic mic operator as a side gig for ABC Sports for OU home games in the 90's and 2000's. He worked as a Regional City Planner for Georgia Redevelopment Center in 2000. He later went on to become a LPC-candidate for counseling individuals. He was a jack of all trades who never knew a stranger. He would light up the room with his huge personality and great sense of humor. He always made an impact on anyone he came in contact with.

Craig is survived by: brother Larry Hitchcock, of Kansas City; daughter Dawn Hitchcock (Trep), of Norman; grandsons Brendan Hitchcock (Kylie) and Tristan Hitchcock, great grandson Waylen, great granddaughters Addie and Hadley.

Craig is predeceased by: his parents; wife Kathy Hitchcock, and son, Brace Hitchcock.

The family would like to thank Dr. Samuel Cook and his palliative team for their loving and compassionate care.

The family has decided not to have a memorial service.
