Viola Ruth Bennett, known affectionately as Ruth by her friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 30, 2024, in
Conroe, Texas. Born on October 10, 1931, in Woodson County Kansas, Ruth was a beacon of light and love throughout her 93 years of life. Ruth was the cherished daughter of the late Herbert and Leola (Ladd) Laude. She grew up surrounded by her loving sisters, Velora Barnes, Marjorie Peck, Lucille Becannon, and Elaine Hardin, who all preceded her in death, and Rose Marie Chambers, who remains to honor her memory. Ruth's legacy continues through her devoted children, Cynthia Michael and her husband Max, Regina Bennett, and Gary Bennett and his wife Carlene. She was the proud grandmother to Anna Parker, Alicia Masters and her husband Tony, Dakota Bennett, Montana Bennett, and Tacoma Bennett. Her great-grandchildren, Caleb Jones, Michael Parker, and Abigail Parker, will carry forward the values and love she instilled in them. Ruth's early years were spent at South Maple Grove School, and she later graduated from Humboldt High School in 1950. Her faith played a central role in her life, and she was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Humboldt, Kansas, and later the First Baptist Church in Tomball, Texas. Ruth's professional life was marked by her compassionate service in medical records at nursing homes in the Tomball area, from which she retired in 2010. Her love for music was evident, as she played the piano for church services, choirs, and delighted the residents of area nursing homes with her talent. Ruth's joy for life extended to her love of playing games, a pastime she relished while surrounded by friends and family. Those who knew Ruth would describe her as faith-filled and kind, qualities that she demonstrated through her actions and her warm, gentle presence. Ruth's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her commitment to serving others. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and her legacy will be remembered through the melodies she played and the love she shared with everyone she met. Her family will hold dear the memories of her steadfast love, her gentle guidance, and her infectious laughter. As we bid farewell to Ruth, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by devotion to family, faith, and community. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Ruth's family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her beloved parents and sisters in eternal rest. Ruth's life will be honored in a service that reflects the joy and love she brought into the world. Her family will gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman whose life was a blessing to all who knew her. Ruth's memory will live on, not only in the hearts of her family but also in the many lives she touched with her kindness and her music. In the quiet moments, we will hear the echoes of Ruth's piano, feel the warmth of her smile, and know that her legacy of love and faith will endure for generations to come. Viola Ruth Bennett will be deeply missed, but the beauty of her life will remain a guiding light for all who were graced by her presence. Ruth will be laid to rest at a later date with her parents at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt Kansas.
