Viola I. Pritchard, a beloved mother, grandmother, and a cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the West Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, Tennessee, at the age of 93. Born on April 13, 1932, in Grady County, Oklahoma, Viola embraced life with a spirited energy that earned her the affectionate nickname of a “Fire Ball” among those who knew her best.
Her professional career included many years dedicated to the Social Security Administration, as well as significant roles in supporting military operations throughout her husband’s service. Viola also served as a clerical assistant at Milan Arsenal and was instrumental in the success of her husband's transportation company, showcasing her remarkable ability to balance family obligations with her professional endeavors.
Viola's artistic spirit was evident through her passion for painting, whether it be oils, watercolors, or charcoal drawings. She found joy in expressing her creativity and spent many hours engaged in her craft. Additionally, she enjoyed cross stitching and was an avid reader, hobbies that enriched her life and offered her great pleasure.
Viola is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Penny Roberts (Charles) and Dana McCaslin (Steve), as well as her stepchildren, Dolores Crawford (Keith) and James F. Pritchard. She leaves behind a legacy of family love and dedication that will continue to inspire those she cherished.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Pritchard, her daughter, Jamie Hulderman, and her parents, Ora and Beatrice Malone Fields.
SERVICES: A visitation honoring Viola I. Pritchard will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. A private family burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the Jackson Animal Care Center, 23 Pinnacle Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.
Viola's vibrant personality, dedication to her family, and creative talents will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
