Violet Mannings

Ms. Violet Theresa Jackson Mannings, age 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022 at her daughter's residence in Brooklet, GA.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she migrated to England and later lived in Miami, Florida for over 30 years. After retirement, she returned to Jamaica with her husband Lloyd. After his passing in 2017, she relocated to Brooklet, Georgia, to live with her daughter Dawn.
Violet became a registered nurse in England where she met and later married Lloyd. They soon moved to North Miami Beach, Florida. She worked for several years as an RN while raising 2 daughters, Dawn & Carol. She then returned to school at nights to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.
She was a practicing Catholic who attended Holy Family Catholic Church in North Miami, Florida and later St. Matthew Catholic Church in Statesboro, Georgia.
She leaves her memories to cherish with her 2 daughters, Dr. Dawn Mannings (spouse, Dr. Kendall Griffith) of Brooklet, GA., and Dr. Carol Mannings (spouse, Andre Higgins) of Jacksonville, FL.; surviving sisters, Edna Jones of Kingston, Jamaica and Ruby Messam of Boston, MA.; surviving brother, Joseph Jackson (spouse Oona Jackson) of Yardley, PA.; 6 grandchildren, Kira, Nyla, Maya, Kendall Jr., Saige, and Rylee and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Enos and Winston and sister, Dorothy.
