Violet (Finamore) St. Cyr, of Waltham, died Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 64.

Violet was born in Waltham on February 21, 1961, a daughter of the late Leonard and Violet (Ambrosino) Finamore, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School.

Until her recent retirement she worked in the cafeteria at Waltham High where her kind and friendly nature earned her many friends among staff, students and co-workers. Before that she’d worked at Beaver Surgical Instruments in Waltham.

In her younger years she was a talented softball player, at pitcher and second base, in area leagues and in later years took up playing cornhole with her husband, Ray, weekly at the Sons of Italy and in area tournaments. Her passion for the Boston Red Sox was well known.

In addition to her beloved husband of thirty-nine years, Raymond L. St. Cyr, she leaves her children, Michelle V. Richard (Andrew) of Marlborough and David S. St. Cyr (Chloe Brown) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Leo and Lucy Richard; her brothers, Stephen Finamore (Janet) of Hillsdale, New Jersey, Leonard Finamore (Donna) of Weymouth, her twin, Vincent Finamore of Thailand, many nieces, nephews and their families and her beloved cat, Rocky.

In addition to her parents, in heaven Violet joins her cherished granddaughter, Violet Richard, and her sister, Annette Finamore.

Family and friends will honor and remember Violet's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, September 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
