It is with deep sorrow and endless love that we announce the passing of Violet Pearl Bell Strayer Waldecker, (93), who went to be with our Lord on October 5, 2025, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Frederick and Grace Bell; her sister, Shirley Blough; her two brothers, Fred and James Bell; her first husband, John Ronald Strayer; her second husband, Donald Edward Waldecker; and her youngest daughter, Beth Ellen Strayer Ironmonger.

She is survived by her four daughters, Deborah Bang, Diane Follin (Wayne), Denise Smith (Bill), and Sally Plaisance (Fred); stepsons, Michael and Tony Waldecker; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her family was the heart of her life, her greatest joy, and proudest accomplishment. She poured endless love, wisdom, and warmth into every generation, creating bonds that will endure forever.

Violet was a beautiful, warm, and loving woman whose heart knew no bounds. She opened her home and her heart to anyone in need of comfort, kindness, or simply a listening ear. To know her was to feel loved, accepted, and seen. She was truly an angel on earth, doing God's good works through every act of generosity, compassion, and grace.

She married her high school sweetheart, John Ronald Strayer (Ronnie), and together they built a loving home filled with laughter, devotion, and faith while raising their five beautiful daughters.

Her professional career began at Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, Pennsylvania as a lab technician and she continued to work in the home healthcare field when she and Ronnie moved to Falls Church, Virginia. It was in this work that her caring spirit and grace shone through in everything she did.

After Ronnie passed, Violet was blessed to find love again with Donald Waldecker. Together, they created a new chapter of success and partnership, founding Stay Side Systems and Products, a marine sales and service business. She continued to work into her 90's, all while living independently and inspiring everyone around her with her vitality and purpose.

With a smile that warmed the soul and a spirit that lifted those around her, Violet was the brightest light even in the darkest times. She lived her life as a reflection of faith, hope and love, leaving behind a legacy of goodness that will live on in all who knew her.

Though her earthly presence will be deeply missed, her light will never fade, for she continues to shine through the love she shared, the kindness she inspired, and the faith she lived so beautifully.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital. A service will be held to celebrate Violet Waldecker on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 2PM at Hollomon-Brown, Lyhnnhaven Chapel.
