Her heart was especially devoted to her role as a grandmother, a responsibility she held dear—often fondly referred to as "nana duty," which brought immense joy and fulfillment to her life.

A viewing to honor Virdie Latrice Nelson’s life will be held on April 2, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75224. Her funeral service will follow on April 3, 2026, beginning at 3:00 PM at the same location
