Virgil Joseph "Skip" Bashline, 87, of Kyle, Texas, (formally of Leechburg, Pennsylvania), passed way peacefully at home with family by his side on September 106, 2021. Virgil was born in Hyde Park, Pennsylvania to Mary J. Bashline and Ardale Bashline on December 26, 1933.

Virgil attended Leechburg High School and graduate in 1952. He went on to enlist in the United State Marine Corp immediately following high school. He was a Korean War veteran. He worked for the Leechburg Borough for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed the following activities: watching NASCAR races, Steelers football, reading the newspaper and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved pets. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Leechburg, PA and subsequently a member of St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church in Kyle, Texas.

Virgil is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 40 years, Cathy Bashline of Kyle Texas. His daughter Mary Kate Bashline-McCormack (Cliff) of Kyle, Texas; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Lindsay McCormack; sister, Mary Ann Letterio, Aunt Pat Kaminski, niece Nancyann Letterio, and nephews Lance and Larry Letterio.

A private memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Leechburg Public Library at armstronglibraries.org. The family wishes to extend our gratitude to Encompass Hospice of Austin, Texas; Ascension Seton Hospital at Hays County and clergy and staff of St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church and Santa Cruz Catholic Church.
