Virgil R. Couch, age 87, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 14, 2025, at Envive of Berne in Berne, Indiana.

He was born on January 5, 1938, in Hillsboro, Ohio, to the late Grant and Vivian (Elliott) Couch. Virgil was united in marriage to Cheryl Bailey on October 21, 1989, at Bryant Wesleyan Church in Bryant, Indiana.

Virgil honorably served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He worked in the maintenance department at Four M Company in Portland, Indiana. A gifted musician, he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, and he had a lifelong love for sports.

Virgil was a member of the Bryant Wesleyan Church in Bryant, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl J. Couch of Geneva, Indiana; daughter, Sarah E. Couch of Geneva, Indiana; and son, Michael Couch of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Couch and Larry Couch, and a sister, Charlotte A. Groom.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Bryant Wesleyan Church, Bryant, Indiana, with Pastor Paul VanCise officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date.
