Virginia Bauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McKoon Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 20, 2025.
Virginia Dittman Bauer, daughter of the late Charles and Edith Dittman, was born March 8, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA. She passed away at the age of 90 on December 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She lived a life of faith, humility, and service. A devoted daughter of God, she found strength in prayer and the Eucharist and was a founding faithful member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for many years. She participated for years in her church choir, volunteered at the Southland Nursing Home, and Meals on Wheels. Her Catholic faith guided her daily life and shaped the love she so generously shared with her family and community. Most of all, she had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother which helped her through times of sickness and daily trials.

Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her role as the heart of her family and found great joy in caring for others. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, welcoming others into her home, or offering prayers for those in need, she reflected Christ's love in all she did.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bauer, Sr. She is survived by her children, Charlene Barrow (Michael), Earleen Mann (Jimmy), Paul Bauer (Stephanie), Virginia Scott (Randy), Sister Beth Bauer; her grandchildren, Erin Gilbert (Brantley), Lauren Gough (Kevin), Christina Rodgers (Nick), Dan Scott (Katie), Emily de Lautour (Harry), Joe Scott (Kalli); and her great-grandchildren, William Gilbert, Madeline Gilbert, Elizabeth Rodgers, Caitlin Rodgers, and Miles Scott. She is also survived by her twin sisters, Dorothy Hatmaker and Donna Anderson (Richard). They will all forever treasure her example of faith and love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 3 Village Rd., Newnan, GA with Father Michael Revak officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 656 Roscoe Rd., Newnan, GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Magdalene Chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

We commend her soul to the mercy of God and trust in the promise of the Resurrection. May she rest in the peace of Christ.
